Ripley is a small Ohio River town about 50 miles southeast of Cincinnati, reached via scenic US Route 52. The winding riverside highway connects the community of 1,610 to Cincinnati and other river towns, while State Routes 763 and 770 provide inland access. The John Rankin House, perched on a hill overlooking the river, served as a vital Underground Railroad station with its beacon light guiding enslaved people to freedom.
