Rio is a tiny Knox County town of about 200 people, located 15 miles northwest of Galesburg via US Route 34 and County Road 2050 North. Most visitors come from Galesburg or the Quad Cities area through farmland roads. The town's historic one-room schoolhouse from 1876 still stands as a testament to rural Illinois education history.
