Rio Dell is a small lumber town along the Eel River in Humboldt County's redwood country, about 20 miles south of Eureka via Highway 101. The main route runs directly through town as Wildwood Avenue, connecting visitors traveling between the redwood parks and the Lost Coast. Most traffic arrives from Eureka (25 minutes north) or through the scenic redwood groves from Garberville (45 miles south). The 1914 Eel River Brewing Company building still stands downtown near the highway bridge.
