Richview is a farming community of 208 people in Washington County, about 15 miles southeast of Centralia via Route 161. Most visitors arrive from I-64 through Centralia or drive short distances from nearby Nashville. The village sits amid endless cornfields and soybean farms typical of southern Illinois, with Centralia Municipal Airport 15 miles northwest. Despite its tiny size, Richview kept its own post office when many rural communities lost theirs.
