Richland is a small city in Rankin County, just 15 miles southeast of Jackson via Highway 49. Interstate 20 provides direct access at Exit 47, connecting to Vicksburg and Meridian for longer trips. Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport is about 20 miles northwest. The city sits in Mississippi's pine forest region along the Pearl River corridor and is home to the legendary Malaco Records studio where blues and soul stars recorded hits.
