Rice is a small town of about 1,200 people located 45 miles southeast of Dallas in Navarro County. Take I-45 south to Exit 239, then Highway 287 southeast for 15 miles to reach downtown. The town sits along the busy Dallas-Houston travel corridor, making it a convenient stop for long-distance travelers on I-45. Rice's restored 1896 railroad depot now serves as the local historical society headquarters.
