Rib Lake is a small Wisconsin town of 888 people tucked into the northwoods of Taylor County. Highway 102 is the main access road, connecting to Highway 13 near Medford about 10 miles east. Most visitors arrive via Highway 29 to Highway 13 north, then west on 102. The town sits among dense forests and clear lakes, offering classic northwoods recreation year-round. Rib Lake gets its name from the rib-shaped lake that French voyageurs once called "Lac aux Cotes."
