Rhodhiss is a small riverside town in North Carolina's foothills, about an hour northwest of Charlotte via I-40 and Highway 321. The community of 1,200 sits along the Catawba River between Hickory and Lenoir, connected by Highway 321 and local Route 10. Hickory Regional Airport is 20 miles away for air travelers. The 1925 Rhodhiss Dam created Lake Rhodhiss and remains one of the region's oldest working hydroelectric plants.
