Rhineland is a tiny German-heritage town of 165 people in Montgomery County, reached via I-70 west from St. Louis to the Hermann exit, then Highway 19 north for 10 miles. The route passes through Missouri wine country with rolling hills and wooded valleys. Most traffic uses Highway 19 for local connections to Hermann and Washington. The town's restored 1920s general store still operates with original wooden floors and vintage display cases.
