Remer is a small Minnesota lake town of 371 people surrounded by the Chippewa National Forest. Highway 200 connects it to Grand Rapids (45 miles east) and Walker to the west, while drivers from the Twin Cities typically take Highway 169 north through Garrison. The town sits on Big Sand Lake amid dense pine forests and operates one of Minnesota's last manually operated swing bridges from 1949.
