Redfield is a tiny farming community in southeastern Kansas, about 15 miles northeast of Fort Scott near the Missouri border. Most visitors arrive via US-69 from Fort Scott, then take county roads east through agricultural land. Longer trips connect through I-35 from Kansas City or US-160 from Pittsburg. The area features rolling farmland and woodlands typical of eastern Kansas, with Fort Scott Municipal Airport 15 miles southwest. The community's historic one-room schoolhouse once served local farming families.
