Red Bud is a small German-heritage town in southwestern Illinois, about 45 miles southeast of St. Louis via Interstate 255 and Highway 154. The main routes include Highway 154 running east-west through downtown and Highway 3 following the Mississippi River bluffs north-south. The town's restored 1867 railroad depot now houses the visitor center with original waiting room benches.
