Readlyn is a small farming town in northeastern Iowa, about 15 miles northwest of Waterloo via Highway 218 north to Highway 3 west. The main route through town is Highway 3, connecting to Waverly and other regional communities. Local roads follow the typical Midwest grid pattern serving surrounding agricultural areas. The town still uses a traditional fire bell mounted on a tall pole to summon volunteer firefighters.
