Reading is a tiny Kansas town of under 200 people at the junction of US 56 and State Route 99, about an hour from Kansas City. It sits on the historic Santa Fe Trail route in the scenic Flint Hills region. The original 1870s railroad depot still stands as a community center, representing some of the last Kansas Pacific Railway architecture in the area.
