Ray is a small farming town in northwestern North Dakota, about 30 miles southeast of Williston on Highway 2. The main routes are Highway 2 east-west and State Highway 1804 north-south, connecting to the Bakken oil region. Most visitors come from Williston or pass through on cross-state trips. The town's grain elevator serves as a prairie landmark visible for miles.
