Rankin is a small oil town in West Texas, about 60 miles southeast of Midland via US Highway 67. The town sits at the crossroads of US 67 and State Highway 349 in Upton County, serving the surrounding Permian Basin petroleum operations. Most visitors pass through on US 67 traveling between San Angelo and Midland, or use Highway 349 to connect with Interstate 20. The 1927 Art Deco courthouse with its prominent clock tower dominates the town square.
