Ranger sits along US Highway 80 in north-central Texas, about 90 miles west of Fort Worth. Most visitors arrive via US 80 or Interstate 20 just south of town. The area features rolling hills with oak and mesquite trees, typical of the Cross Timbers region. The restored 1919 high school building on Main Street recalls when oil boom days brought over 30,000 people to this now-quiet ranching community.
