Rangely is a small oil town in northwestern Colorado's high desert, about 20 miles from Utah. Most visitors drive Highway 64 from either Rifle (via Highway 13 through Meeker) or from Vernal, Utah. The town sits at 5,200 feet with hot summers and cold winters. It's home to Colorado Northwestern Community College, which runs its automotive program in a converted military hangar.
