Randolph is a 31-person farming community in Clay County, about 15 miles northeast of Kansas City via Highway 210. Most traffic is local residents commuting to Kansas City for work. Kansas City International Airport is 25 miles northwest, while the smaller downtown airport is 20 miles south. The town was platted in 1887 along the old Rock Island Railroad line.
