Rake is a tiny farming town of 190 people in north-central Iowa, accessible via Highway 9 which connects to Interstate 35 about 25 miles east near Clear Lake. Most visitors come through Mason City, 20 miles southeast, or connect from I-80 via Highway 69. The town's grain elevator towers over the surrounding cornfields, serving as a landmark visible for miles across the flat prairie landscape.
