Raiford is a small county seat in north-central Florida's Union County, accessible via State Road 121 and nearby US Highway 301. The town sits about 45 miles southwest of Jacksonville and 25 miles north of Gainesville, surrounded by pine forests and cattle ranches. Despite its population of just 382, Raiford serves as home to the Union Correctional Institution, one of Florida's major state prisons.
