Quitman is a small county seat in east-central Mississippi, accessible via US Highway 45 from Meridian (30 miles south) or from Jackson via I-20 east then US 45 north. The town sits among the rolling pine forests typical of Mississippi's Piney Woods region. Its 1906 courthouse features a prominent clock tower that has marked time for over a century.
