Quitman is a small Arkansas town of about 800 people located 60 miles northeast of Little Rock near Greers Ferry Lake. Highway 16 is the main route through town, connecting to Interstate 40 via Highway 65 from Little Rock. The area is popular with lake visitors and serves as a gateway to Ozark Mountain recreation. The town sits near Greers Ferry Dam, completed in 1963, which created the massive recreational lake that defines the region.
