Quinlan is a lakeside town about 45 miles east of Dallas on Lake Tawakoni, popular with weekend visitors for fishing and boating. Take I-30 east from Dallas to Highway 34 north, or use Highway 276 for east-west connections. The town sits where North Texas hills meet East Texas pine country, with hot summers moderated by the lake. The restored 1920s movie theater downtown still shows films on weekends.
