Pyote is a tiny West Texas town of 115 people, located 20 miles southeast of Monahans on Highway 18. Most visitors arrive via Interstate 20, exiting at Monahans for the short drive south through oil country. The town sits on the site of what was once the world's largest airfield during World War II, when Pyote Army Air Field trained bomber crews.
