Putnam is a tiny farming town of 51 people in western Oklahoma's Dewey County. US Highway 183 runs through town, connecting north to Seiling and south toward Clinton and I-40. Most regional trips use Highway 281 near Seiling to reach Enid or Oklahoma City. The community's post office doubles as an informal gathering spot, operating just a few hours each weekday morning.
