Pump Back is a tiny community of 158 people in northeastern Oklahoma's Mayes County, about 45 miles from Tulsa via US-412 east to Highway 69 north. The rolling Ozark foothills terrain supports local farming and ranching operations. The town gets its distinctive name from an old oil field pump station that once operated in the area.
