Pullman is a college town in southeastern Washington's Palouse region, built around Washington State University on rolling hills covered in wheat fields. US Highway 195 connects it to Spokane 75 miles north and Moscow, Idaho, just 8 miles south. The university's veterinary program maintains one of America's few remaining horse-drawn hearses.
