Prophetstown is a small farming town in northwestern Illinois, about 15 miles northeast of Sterling along the Rock River. Take I-88 to Exit 36, then follow Route 78 north for 8 miles to reach downtown. The main attraction is Prophetstown State Park, which features authentic recreations of an 1830s pioneer village and Native American settlement showing pre-European life along the Rock River.
