Pronghorn is a tiny high desert community about 15 miles northeast of Bend, home to fewer than 300 people. Reach it via US 97 north from Bend, then east on local roads. The area sits at 3,200 feet elevation among juniper-dotted terrain. Roberts Field airport in Redmond is 20 miles southwest. The town is named for the pronghorn antelope that once roamed these plains.
