Proctor is a small Minnesota city 10 miles southwest of Duluth via Highway 2, with about 3,100 residents in the old Iron Range country. Most visitors drive from Duluth in 15 minutes, or take longer routes from the Twin Cities on I-35. The DWP Trail follows an old railroad grade, connecting Proctor to Duluth's trail network through wooded terrain.
