Price serves as Carbon County's main hub in Utah's high desert coal country, sitting at 5,500 feet elevation about 120 miles southeast of Salt Lake City. US Highway 6 is the primary route, connecting west to Spanish Fork and east to I-70 near Helper. The town's Prehistoric Museum houses a complete Allosaurus skeleton found at the nearby Cleveland-Lloyd Dinosaur Quarry.
