Preston, a city of 1,362 in southeastern Minnesota's bluff country, sits 40 miles south of Rochester via Highway 52. The county seat of Fillmore County straddles the South Branch Root River amid rolling limestone hills. From the Twin Cities, take I-35 south to Highway 14 east, then Highway 52 south. The city operates Fillmore County's only municipal pool, a 1940 concrete facility with an Art Deco bathhouse.
