Preston is a small farming community in eastern Iowa with about 1,000 residents. Located along US Highway 52, it's about 25 miles southwest of Dubuque and connects to Maquoketa via State Highway 64. The town sits in rolling agricultural country typical of Jackson County. Preston's restored 1913 opera house continues to host live theater performances.
