Poynette is a small Wisconsin city of about 2,700 people located 20 miles north of Madison along Highway 51. The town sits in Columbia County's farm country near the Fox River, with easy Interstate access via I-39/90 just to the east. It's home to Wisconsin's oldest continuously operating movie theater, the Poynette Cinema, which has been showing films since 1913.
