Powell is a tiny rural community in Navarro County, about 50 miles southeast of Dallas via I-45 and Highway 31. With just over 100 residents, it's surrounded by cattle pastures and farmland in the east Texas prairie. The nearest airport and services are in Corsicana, 10 miles southwest. At night, you can still see stars clearly across the wide-open countryside.
