Powderly is a small western Kentucky city of about 930 people in Muhlenberg County's coal country. Take US Highway 62 through town, or reach it via the Western Kentucky Parkway to Exit 40. The city was named after Terence Powderly, leader of the Knights of Labor union during the area's coal mining heyday.
