Polo is a farming community in northwestern Illinois, about 100 miles from Chicago via Interstate 88 and Route 26. The town of 2,500 sits in rolling agricultural country where Route 26 serves as the main north-south corridor. Most visitors arrive from Chicago or Rockford, while local traffic uses the Polo-Mount Morris Road for east-west travel. The restored 1920s Polo Theatre downtown still shows movies on weekends with its original marquee intact.
