Pollock is a small farming town in north-central South Dakota, about 15 miles from the North Dakota line. Take US Highway 83 north-south or State Highway 1804 east-west to reach it. Most long-distance travelers come from Bismarck (90 miles north) or Pierre (140 miles south). The grain elevator dominates the skyline and can be spotted from miles away across the prairie.
