Point Blank is a lakeside community on Lake Livingston, about 75 miles northeast of Houston via US-59 and local highways. The drive takes around 90 minutes from Houston or 3 hours from Dallas. Highway 156 provides the main access through town, connecting to regional routes and local marinas. The town got its unusual name from surveying terminology used during the original 1840s land surveys.
