Plum Branch is a tiny community of about 95 people in McCormick County, near the Georgia border. Highway 378 provides the main access from McCormick to the east or Washington, Georgia to the west. Most visitors arrive via I-85 and Highway 28 from Anderson. The town sits among rolling Piedmont hills with scattered farms and pine forests. The community gets its name from wild plum trees that once flourished along the local creek.
