Plover is a central Wisconsin city of nearly 14,000 people, located just off Interstate 39 and US Highway 51 about 10 minutes southeast of Stevens Point. The main routes are I-39/US 51 running north-south and Highway 54 going east-west, making it easily accessible from Milwaukee (120 miles) or the Twin Cities (200 miles). Stevens Point Municipal Airport is nearby for regional flights. The city runs one of Wisconsin's largest municipal composting operations.
