Pleasantville is a small farming community in southeastern Ohio, about 30 miles from Columbus via State Route 22. Most visitors arrive on Route 22 from Lancaster or connect through US Route 33 to the north. The city of 900 sits among rolling hills and agricultural land typical of south-central Ohio. Rarey's IGA general store has operated continuously since 1895, still featuring its original tin ceiling and wooden floors.
