Platea is a small Erie County community of about 590 people, located 15 miles southeast of Lake Erie in rural northwestern Pennsylvania. Reach it via Interstate 79 and local county roads, or State Route 98 from the east. Erie International airport is 20 miles northwest. The town centers around one of Pennsylvania's smaller post offices.
