Plandome is a tiny waterfront village on Long Island's North Shore, just 20 minutes from LaGuardia Airport via the Cross Island Parkway and Northern Boulevard. Take I-495 east from the city, then connect through Route 25A or local roads like Port Washington Boulevard. The LIRR's Port Washington line stops right in town, making it popular with Manhattan commuters. Despite having fewer than 1,600 residents, Plandome maintains its own village government with a mayor and four trustees.
