Placerville is a tiny mountain community of 30 people located 45 miles northeast of Boise via the winding Highway 21 through Idaho City. This former gold rush town sits at 4,800 feet elevation in the Boise National Forest, serving as a gateway to backcountry areas and the Sawtooth Mountains. The historic cemetery contains graves from the 1860s mining boom.
