Pittsboro is Chatham County's seat, located 35 miles southwest of Raleigh in North Carolina's Piedmont hills. US 64 runs east-west through town, connecting to Raleigh and the Triangle, while US 15-501 links north to Chapel Hill and south toward Sanford. The 1881 courthouse with its working clock tower still marks time in the historic town square.
