Pismo Beach sits on California's Central Coast where Highway 101 meets the Pacific. Most visitors drive 101 from LA (200 miles) or the Bay Area (250 miles), with Highway 1 offering a scenic coastal alternative. The airport is 15 miles northeast. You can still dig for the famous Pismo clams at low tide with a fishing license.
