Pioneer is a small farming town in northwest Ohio with about 1,000 residents, located 50 miles west of Toledo via State Route 15. The main routes include US-20 from Toledo and US-6 from Fort Wayne. State Route 15 runs north-south through town, connecting to the Ohio Turnpike 20 miles south. The village hosts an annual Ox Roast festival each August featuring traditional whole-ox barbecue.
