Pinehurst is a golf resort town in North Carolina's Sandhills, about an hour from both Raleigh and Charlotte via US 15-501. The village centers around the famous Pinehurst No. 2 course, which has hosted more US Opens than any venue except Oakmont, including back-to-back men's and women's championships in 2014.
